Dr. Crawford C. McCullough of the Rotary Club of Fort William Port Arthur, Canada, was President of Rotary International in 1921 - 1922. His Vision for Rotary  – Applying the organization’s simplicity and sincerity of purpose to service worldwide.

A charter member of the Fort William Port Arthur Rotary Club, Dr. Crawford McCullough served as the club’s third president (1917-18), fourth governor of District No. 4 (1918-19), a President of Rotary International (1921-22), the second Canadian to hold that office.

Dr Crawford Mc Cullough, was the second Canadian to serve Rotary as international president.

He was born in Ontario, he was a graduate of Queens University in Kingston and took graduate work in his profession of eye,  ear, nose and throat medicine in New York, Boston, London, Paris, Freeburgh, Vienna, and Berlin. He was a fellow of the Royal College of surgeons of Canada and the American College of surgeons and a president of the Thunder Bay medical society.

In spite of his busy medical practice, Crawford was active in Civic affairs, even serving as the city alderman, and as president of the local Chamber of Commerce. He was a sports enthusiast, enjoying hunting fishing and he was a world traveller.

He was a charter member of the Rotary club of Fort William founded in 1916, and later served as  governor of his  Rotary district. In 1920 – 1921, he was vice president of the international organisation and the next year president. At his convention in Los Angeles in 1922 Rotary adopted a revise Constitution, which integrated all the Rotary club of the world into Rotary international.

A tree was dedicated by Dr Crawford McCulllough and Mrs McCullough for Fort William, Canada in the presence of some members of the Rotary Club of Melbourne on September 20th, 1939, including President Norman Carson, District 65 Governor Angus Mitchell, and inaugural club President W.A. Osborne.
