The Peace Bells at Rotary Melbourne Peace Park are the official legacy project of the Rotary International Convention held in Melbourne in May 2023. They are the first legacy project of an International Convention. Thank you to Rotary International for all your support, including your financial contribution.
Rotary District 9800 includes clubs across Melbourne and suburbs and includes regional clubs north of the city to the New South Wales border. Rotary Melbourne is a member of District 9800. With the Peace Bells located within District 9800, the District has made a substantial contribution to their installation. Thank you.
In 1934, the City of Melbourne Council made available a small area in the King's Domain for a Rotary Park of Remembrance. The City continues to manage and protect the Park to this day.
The Rotary Club of Calgary is the home club of James Wheeler Davidson, the Canadian Rotarian who travelled across the Pacific to establish Rotary in Australia and New Zealand in the 1920s, with Rotary Melbourne being the first of these clubs. We thank Calgary for its generous donation to the Peace Bells.
The Rotary Club of Woodend in District 9800 contributed to the installation of the Peace Bells.
