A Holtz was a prominent Melbourne newspaper man. He was Secretary and General Manager of The Argus and Australasian. Holtz was the President of the Rotary Club of Melbourne 1925-26 and the first District Governor 1929-30 of District 63 which included the whole of Australia. He was the leader to the Australian delegation to the Convention of Rotary International at Ostend in 1927. He joined Professor Osborne as an additional Rotary International Commissioner for establishing new clubs. He was highly commended for his Chairmanship of the District Conference and the Pacific Rotary Conference both held in Sydney in 1930.
